Dogra Sir,
Saw your cartoons too, finally. They are nice. I feel that different cartoonists expect a certain class to see their cartoons. Depending on that, they write the dialogs contained in it. Laxman’s cartoons in TOI are for people who are aware of the issue they address. So he doesn’t include what had happened in the issue itself. There is just a small hint at the issue somewhere in the drawing and the rest of the space is devoted for the humor he’s planned for the reader. I am sure you already know what I am saying, and more. But you know me….very unassuming I am because of living and earning in all the varied cultures of the country.
Please keep up this new hobby. What humanity needs in these days is a little sense of humor!!

Akash, if I understand you correctly, you are suggesting that I need to be less explicit about certain things and more suggestive. First thing, I am a novice and nowhere near Laxman. Secondly, Laxman writes today about what happened yesterday. His cartoons are absolutely topical. You read the news on one corner of the page and his cartoon on the other: the news supplements the cartoon. I wish to avoid topical cartoons, because they constitute a comment on current issues. All the same, I’ll keep in mind the suggestion you have given.
